The Chor Bazaar in Mutton Street, Mumbai is a virtual
treasure trove. Though nothing to do with Chor (Thieves) the name is derived
from “Shor” Bazaar which literally means a noisy market.
All different types of second hand artifacts and household
items are available in this market. However what impressed me the most was faces.
Let me share with you the collection of faces that I have
from my first trip to Chor Bazar.
| The spirit of Chor Bazar :) |
| Keeping a watch on everybody that moves |
| That smile....... |
| Mother and Child......sublime |
| Ardhanarishwar (ardh=half, nari = woman). Half man and half woman sometimes thought to be a manifestation of Shiva and Parvati. |
| Kali, the facet of Durga who is in charge of Death, Time and Change |
| That one face from the very end of the stall was very haunting |
Thats all folks. Hope you liked the journey with the faces as much as I liked bringing it to you.
